Shineko, or Neko for short, represents death. She is a sadistic stuffed cat who enjoys seeing the suffering of the students. She and Inu watch over and manage trials, making sure that nobody gets too rowdy or out-of-line. She works as basically the despair side of Monokuma, making the students want to slaughter one another.
"You met my boring big brother. I'm Shineko: the kitten who's gonna make your life a little more fun."
(Triumphantly) "On your knees, peasant! Bow to the greatest and cutest kitty!"
(Demanding) "Shush, I've made the game much more playable and you know it!" (Coyly) "Don't be jelly."
