Final Fantasy XV audio drama (book 4): Reckoning
Project Overview
Hello everyone! We're casting for the 4th and final part in the Shattered Dreams FFXV Audio Drama series. This project has been going for about two years now, so some of our cast and all of our tech crew (ie, me) have been around and dedicated to making great content for quite a while. When you audition for this project, you can be assured that it's not just a fun idea that will never take off: it has already taken off. The Project
This project is a dramatization of a FFXV fanfiction series. You can find this story on AO3. The final result will not be a podfic in the traditional sense insofar as it isn't someone reading a fic. Instead, the story has been converted into an audio drama (like an old school radio drama) complete with a fully voiced cast list, sound effects, and music from the FFXV-verse.
The book will be released in four episodes, each around 1 - 1.5 hours long. Episodes will be published to youtube, soundcloud, and AO3 every two months, starting in March 2021.
Some characters listed here are in multiple episodes and some are only in one or two. If your character is in a later episode, you're welcome (and encouraged) to turn in lines early rather than waiting 6 months for the deadline.
Please do not audition for this project if you:
- Don't have a quality mic. I will not cast people with poor audio quality no matter how good your acting is.
- Aren't willing to stick around for approximately 8 months to see this through to the end. If you disappear before the end (even if you have turned all your lines in) and I end up finding missing lines or need a retake, it's going to cause problems.
- Don't have Discord or the willingness to make / use a Discord account. This is where we do all of our communication.
- Aren't willing to communicate with me. I have replaced actors on this project simply because they never respond to my messages.
- Will not be able to finish your lines in the 2-month recording period (per episode) provided to you.

Character Description: Brother to Ardyn and father of the royal line of Lucis. Usurped the throne, demonized his brother, and lied about literally everything that followed.
Voice Type: Mid pitch. Cultured voice, but takes on a whining/tremulous tone when frightened.
(GUARDED) Dreamer. Brother. To what do I owe this visit?
(DESPERATE) What was done to you——what I did to you——was unconscionable. There is nothing I can say in defense of it. Looking back, I hardly know what drove me thus. Some erroneous belief that, were you to remain king, Lucis would crumble into darkness. It was as if a great light blinded my vision and righteousness took hold. In all that has happened since the Dreamer took the ring——merely weeks of your time——I have come to wonder if they were not my thoughts at all.
(DESPERATE, TERRIFIED) Don’t. Please. I am sorry. A thousand times I am sorry, but no apology can ever be sufficient for my sins. Brother, please. I beg of you. Stay this madness and let us come to some understanding.

Character Description: Formerly the king's steward and faithful companion, Weskham retired to Altissia nearly 20 years ago for political reasons. Despite that, he maintains a fierce sense of loyalty to the crown along with his stewardly sensibilities. He always was the reasonable one.
Voice Type: Low and velvety. Educated, but relaxed.
Note: I'd also accept an english accent for this part.
(CALLING OUT) Thought you two could use a few hands. I convinced Camelia to split the army; they’re on their way. Anywhere in particular you want them?
(ELATED) Regis! Glad to see you’re all still alive and kicking. I thought we might not make it in time.
I guessed that much. If we can get her restrained, that should give you the time you need. As for the rest… we’ll just have to wear her down. (PAUSE) Let’s cause a ruckus.

Character Description: An enigmatic immortal, posing as a Messenger of the Gods. In actuality, she is a physical incarnation of Shiva, the Goddess of Ice. While the protagonists find themselves at odds with the other Gods throughout this story, Shiva is the only one who stands on their side.
Voice Type: Mid-pitch. Level and placid, often monotone.
Note: I will accept other accents for this part, but preference goes to auditions that are nearest to her in-game voice.
The Draconian reaches out to the others. He awakens the Hydraean, the Archaean, and the Fulgarian. He calls the Glacian. The Infernian remains——corrupted and unresponsive.
The Oracle sends a warning. The Astrals rise up against humankind to bring destruction while the Draconian prepares to cleanse this world of darkness.
(QUIETLY, PLEASED) The Father King uses my gift well…

Character Description: Research Chief Verstael Besithia made a name for himself by almost single-handedly engineering a method to mass produce a magitek infantry. His rise to prominence also exacerbated his descent into madness, however, and his one-held hopes for peaceful world have warped into a lust for power and desire to wreak destruction.
Voice Type: Low and guttural.
(CONDESCENDING) You must be Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum.
(FURIOUS) You—! You don’t have the authority to make such demands! I will speak with the King of Lucis or I will not speak at all.

Character Description: Former royal mechanic and companion of King Regis, now retired as a cantankerous country mechanic who can't stand much of anyone, except his granddaughter Cindy. Or at least, he pretends he's a curmudgeon. Deep down he still loves Regis and his brothers-in-arms, even if he never shows it.
Voice Type: Southern US accent. Low, gravelly, and rough.
(MUTTERING) Gods damned son of a——
(IRATE) I said monkey wrench, boy, that’s a crescent wrench! What do they teach you kids in the Crown City, these days? (GRUMBLING, UNDER HIS BREATH) Can’t even tell a crescent from a monkey…
Cindy and I can get the motor and radiator running again. But they ain’t gonna do you any good with a balloon full of holes. Needs to be replaced, but Reggie said y’all are in a hurry. So maybe you’d rather patch it up and hope you’re better with a needle than this boy is with a wrench. Otherwise you ain’t gonna make it real far. Or you’ll make it just far enough to dump everyone into the ocean.
